Your hair loss may be your own doing. You rubbed towels vigorously or you comb your hair with a lot of force. If you’re suffering from cancer, you can lose your hair because of procedures such as chemotherapy.

What Should You Do

Fortunately, even for those with alopecia, there’s hope. Here are some ideas:

Go to the main reason why you’re losing hair. As mentioned, there are plenty of reasons why you suffer from hair loss. You need to know the root cause, as treatments should be based on the primary reason.

Eat the right kinds of food. If you’re looking for a reason to eat healthy, then losing your hair will probably do the trick. hair is made up of keratin, a certain kind of protein similar to that found in the nails. Moreover, eating well will keep your hair in its best form: shiny and smooth to touch.

Avoid shampooing a lot. It’s not advisable to shampoo your hair every day. Instead, condition it often. Also choose the products you put on your hair. A good number of them contain ingredients that could just be too harmful for your follicles.

Don’t rub objects vigorously onto your hair. In fact, you don’t need to rub towels. You just have to pat them on your hair until you can make them dry. It’s also not recommended to comb your hair when it’s still wet. The strands are very fragile, so you can easily pull them from their follicles.

Sport a bald look. If you don’t want to deal with the hair loss anymore, you can just shave your hair and sport the bald appearance. A lot of men and women learn to love it in the process as they feel more liberated and sexier.

Put on a scarf or a hat. You can also change your present negative mind-set. Use the hair loss as an opportunity to be more creative especially on how you look. It’s a perfect excuse to wrap a turban or scarf, as well as wear a hat wherever you go.

Encourage yourself with affirmations. hair loss may lead to depression or anxiety, but you can’t afford to let it lead to those. Use affirmations or subliminal messages. When you’re feeling discouraged or ashamed of how you look, tell yourself the following:

I am not defined by my hair.
There are more things to love about myself.
